Launch of the 2018 MIT Entrepreneurship Development Programme Competition (Scotland)
The Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) is a globally-recognised business executive education course which covers the enterprise creation process.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and Scottish Enterprise (SE) will sponsor five places on EDP 2018 for businesses from across Scotland. The places will go to ambitious entrepreneurs in order for them to attend the course in Boston in 2018, with 70% funding to meet course costs, travel fees and accommodation. The course is aimed at giving entrepreneurs the knowledge they need in order to develop ideas into successful businesses and develop themselves as business leaders.
The financial value of the prize is approximately £10,000. This includes the course fee, return travel from Inverness or any other Scottish airport to Boston, accommodation during the 10 day visit and sponsored networking dinners with the cohort. Added value from attending through a place sponsored by HIE comes from the additional networking meetings arranged with the wider business network in Boston.
In order to comply with the competition rules, participating existing businesses will be expected to contribute 30% of the total cost of attending the course (course fee, flights and accommodation costs) which is expected to be approximately £3,000 per participant.
The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 29 September 2017.
The successful companies will travel to Boston for a 10 day visit in January 2018 to take part on the course.
