The Just Eat FoodTech Accelerator Has Reopened
This initiative was developed by Just Eat in order to help entrepreneurs to make a difference within the Food Tech industry.
This three-month London-based seed programme is designed to help accelerate start-ups to the seed stage. Just Eat has stated that: "As the market leader in our category, we are committed to building a sustainable future for the food tech industry. We acknowledge that if Just Eat thrives and supports others in our industry, they will thrive too - ultimately driving positive benefits for society and economies around the world".
Applications are welcome from ambitious, dynamic UK start-ups that have the potential to "transform the food industry from "farm to fork to bin". The programme goes beyond thinking about transforming the food industry solely through implementing a quicker service, easier preparation or a smoother experience. Start-ups should also be thinking about the wider impact that the industry has upon the world. Organisations should be using creative solutions to address issues such as reducing food waste, driving supply chain transparency, creating sustainable packaging and offering eco-friendly delivery options.
Start-ups have the chance to obtain investment, mentoring and business expertise. Five successful start-ups will participate in a tailored programme complete with mentorship, hands-on 1-2-1s with start-up experts. They will have access to office space for 12 weeks where there will be the opportunity to work alongside likeminded founders from across the world. Start-ups will also receive £20,000 worth of funding in return for a 5% stake in the business. The programme will culminate in a demonstration day where finalists will have the opportunity to pitch ideas before an "invite only" room of investors.
The next deadline for this scheme is 26 March 2017, before midnight.
