Deadline Approaching for Low Carbon Travel and Transport Programme
Transport Scotland has been awarded funding until the end of 2018 to deliver the Low Carbon Travel and Transport Programme, supporting activities to facilitate the delivery of active and low carbon travel hubs across Scotland.
The programme consists of three operations:
- Active Travel Hubs; providing focal points for both cycling and walking routes.
- Low Carbon Transport Hubs; providing refuelling facilities for a variety of alternative fuels and transport modes.
- A National Smart Integrated Ticketing Scheme; aiming to create a strategic, holistic approach to a National Smart Transport Card system for increased public transport use.
Applications are welcome from public sector bodies, third sector and community organisations and the private sector (as part of a consortium bid). Proposals should emphasise one or more of the three European Regional Development Fund’s ‘horizontal themes’:
- Equal opportunities
- Environmental sustainability
- Social inclusion
Supported projects are anticipated to have total project costs of up to £500,000. Those seeking an ERDF grant worth a minimum of £250,000 or with maximum project costs of £2 million are also eligible.
The fund may be used to support some revenue costs such as outreach activity, marketing and promotion, community engagement and evaluation.
The next deadline for receipt of applications is 28 February 2017.
