Launchpad Fund for Aspiring Welsh Musicians - 2017 Deadline Imminent
The Launchpad Fund, which forms part of the BBC Horizons scheme, has been set up to financially support Wales-based music artists or bands to enhance their careers.
The scheme will help those writing, producing and performing original contemporary popular music.
Launchpad is for those starting out on their musical journey, at a crucial point in their development. It supports activities that will help artists or bands fulfil their potential. The funder is looking for those who are able to demonstrate interest from audiences and that work in the music industry (such as venues or critics) but need support to enable them to carry out an activity that will increase their reach.
The fund will award up to 20 awards of up to £2,000 this year. The funds can be used to support activities that will help artists or bands to fulfil their potential and reach the next level. It might be that the applicant has an opportunity to tour, but cannot meet the costs of a van. Or they may have had positive feedback on their demo but now want to record professionally.
Launchpad is open to Wales-based artists/bands writing, producing and performing original contemporary popular music. Eligible music genres include indie, electronic, urban, pop, rock, world, folk and emerging contemporary music genres.
Completed applications must be submitted by midnight on 30 October 2017.
See the programme website for more details.
